People that are selling their houses, how long has your house been on the market for?
I know it is slow and I expected to sell my house anywhere from 3-6 months because I know the market is slow now and their are so many houses on the market in our neighborhood. Ours has been on for 2 months with only a handfull of people coming to see it. Has anyone else noticed the samething?

This is the reason we are re-renting out my old condo. We could let it sit and we could wait but why? We'll sell when the market changes, even if that's years and years away.

Re: People that are selling their houses, how long has your house been on the market for?
I guess it wouldnt bother me but we have only had about 10 people come to look at the house and that is with 2 open houses. At least if people came and no one made offers we would at least get feed back it is hard this way. So far the people that have looked at it either thought it was a little close to a main rd (we are the 2nd house off a semi main street) but it is a dead end block, or thought it was very nice but weren't ready to buy and the last thought it needed "to much work" for the price which everyone who I have told that too thought it was obserd including our agent. I think that couple either didn't like the house or it wasn't in their price range and I dont think it is fair to say it needs work if you dont like something. Inside the only thing we didnt do was one bathroom, the basement isn't finished, the windows arent new but they are in good condition and the screens have been replaced and the siding. Everything else is new. I just wish I had more feedback.

IMO, people probably said that about your house needing work b/c the work you did wasn't their taste. so in their mind, they would replace whatever you did. and that's unfair of them to say.
when we look at houses, if something is REALLY old and outdated, that means work. I've seen plenty of houses with newer kitchens and baths and even though it's not my taste, I wouldn't consider that needing work.

Re: People that are selling their houses, how long has your house been on the market for?
It is hard...my house has been on the market for 3 months. 1 bid and everyone who comes says it is a beautiful house. That is all the feedback we really get, but no real offers. I live in WH, where the houses sell from the $400's to $800k+. My friend and I were just saying today that LI is squeezing out the middle class. A lot of people cant afford a $470k house. Mine is now listed at $450k and still nothing. I think maybe soon it will happen, just stay positive. No one can tell me my house is not beautiful, so I will just wait this whole thing out. Until the right family finds it.

I have been on the market for 3 weeks having our first open house this weekend. Either way I have no control over the market so I will just be patient and hope for the best

My sister lives in W. Hempstead. If you are within walking distance of any of the orthodox synagogues, I would try reaching out to that community. A house on my sister's block just sold for crazy $$ -- because theyare orthodox and are in walking distance.
Just a suggestion....
