Are you insured?
I am thinking of starting a small scale catering business to do cocktail parties and stuff like that. I know I would have to be insured, just wondering how to do that.
P.S. If anyone wants to hire me, I would be more than happy

Call up insurance companies. I'm in the process of doing this right now for a show. Try CimaWorld, maybe?

It's usually, but not always, beneficial to stay with an insurance company you already use. I would contact whoever you use for homeowners/car/life insurance and inquire about a policy. That would at the very least be a good place to start.

Not too sure, but I think for catering there is a NYS Health requirements that are tied to insurability. I can try to ask my old manager about that.

When it comes to food...I would totally be insured....anything actually.
I'm in the biz and you increasingly find everyone wants to make a quick buck.
