People who have worked for a bank - please come in!
Our family has a very close friend who is a bank manager.
I recently opened up a Credit Card with 0% with this bank and transferred a balance to it.
I don't really want this person knowing about my personal debt. Does a bank employee have access to people's credit card information? Or is that more centrally located?
Thanks in advance!

I can't see how they would find out unless they knew your SSN and went looking for it
but anyone with your SSN could find it on your credit report

If he's a branch manager, chances are he has no access to your credit card information. Credit portions of banks are usually fairly removed from retail banking.

I know, that's what I thought too, but I wasn't sure since it was under "his" bank - you know?

as the manager I would doubt he has any access to that info
maybe to your bank account info- seeing the balance- but not a CC card- those are aren't in the branch

DH is a branch manager, and at his bank, he has access to your credit card balance but not transactions. He says this can differ from bank to bank.

Re: People who have worked for a bank - please come in!
I used to work for north fork bank. We did not have access to credit card information (I worked in collections dept for auto finance), but we did have access to bank account info. However, we needed a social security number or account number to access it and there had to be a good reason for accessing it. Usually a credit card is not included with the rest of an individual's account information and is usually kept seperate (in a seperate department). I do remember that there was a way to make all account info restricted, so even the collections department could not access bank account info. Again though, I don't think this person would be able to access it.

I bank at citibank and I have a credit card linked to my other accounts. IF I dip my citicard at the atm or teller it comes up.
I imagine since it's linked anyone in the branch can see the accounts and the card.

If the account is linked to your checking and/or savings, then YES.
