Perfect Pigs In a Blanket
I usually make them w/the flaky Crescent Rolls, but I HATE the way they come out...
i like the way they are made at halls (lol)- dough flaky and not as thick
anyone have a good recipe??????????

I don't have a recipe...however ....the trick to FABULOUS pigs in a blanket is to DEEP FRY THEM! I have a deep fryer built into my kitchen counter top - but you can use a portable one as well....
Whenever I make them at my house, people always say they are the best pigs in a blanket they have ever had - that's because they are not baked, they are fried in vegetable oil - and the dough on the outside browns so nicely and the hot dog part is just perfectly cooked.....
I usually buy the Nathans frozen pigs in a blanket - my second favotire is Hebrew National....I do not like Cohen's pigs in a blanket. They are my LAST CHOICE!

a lot of the ones at the catering halls are purchased already frozen... they arent freshly made there... so check out your grocer's freezer!!
