Pergo - smudges - driving me nuts. Give me tips.

So, I have used Bruce and other solvents on my Pergo. And they will look BEAUTIFUL....temporarily.

I've since discovered a cloudiness and little footprint smudges/imprints of my kids and such.

I have dark Pergo, so it's showing up more.

I have since switched to white vinegar and water, but I still see smudges!

Any advice? Do you think there is just a built-up residue and I should just keep at it with the white vinegar and it should be removed eventually?

Any insight would be great!

We use Bona and the floors look great for about 5 minutes until DD starts running around. But I think that just goes with laminate, esp a dark color... unless someone knows of some magical cleaner that prevents smudges!

same floor, same issue....if we are wearing socks or shoes it's fine but barefeet seem to leave prints, i notice it happens with my feet the most, they must be oily Chat Icon....i used to do a mix of vinegar w/ water and alcohol but i prefer the Bona...i think it has something to do with the laminate, especially dark & shiny laminate and the oils in feet, hands, paws, etc.

i have hardwood and i have noticed the smudges after using any cleaner as well. i use Bona but after it dries i go over the entire floor again with a clean cloth and basically buff it. solved my smudge issues!

I have the same issues. I just checked out Bona's site and it said water dulls it.

So, I'm going to pick up some Bona this weekend and try it.

Is everyone using the Bona laminate or harwood cleaner?

I notice the same thing with our floor. We have a dog so no matter how much I clean, there are always paw prints everywhere Chat Icon

We are closing on our house next week and plan on putting laminate upstairs. I LOVE the look of dark floors, but people are always complaining about seeing EVERYTHING.

After reading this, I guess we're gonna go with something a little lighter and not shiny.
