Pergo floors
Our house on a slab. I believe real hardwood floor would require a subfloor and I think it would raise my floor too high. I wanted to do wood in the LR and 2 bedrooms downstairs.
I am now thinking Pergo is the way to go.
Can you put Pergo directly on the slab (on top of the moisture barrier)?
Who would you recommend to do the flooring?
TIA

Re: Pergo floors
You can definitely put it over slab with the moisture barrier-we have this in two rooms for more than a yr and they are fine.

Did you do it yourself or have it installed?

Re: Pergo floors
Our house has Pergo floors, but it was there when we bought it, so I don't have any info about installation. Sorry.

Re: Pergo floors
One we did ourselves becaus eit was easy with a smooth straight edge. The other was bamboo flooring which is chipped together at the seams so it is a PITA. Installation cost $500.

We had pergo installed for that exact reason. We used Empire Carpet and it looks great.

Re: Pergo floors
We used laminate as well. We went with the Quick Step brand. Excellent flooring and really durable.
We built a subfloor because our floor needed to be raised but you can do it on a slab with a moisture barrier.
We had it installed. We used the floor store and got 0% for 12 months for the whole thing.

Re: Pergo floors
We live on a slab and have laminate just about everywhere expect the kitchen and main area when you walk into the house. We used Quick Step in the living room and Costco brand else where because it was cheaper and just as durable. We installed it. It was easy to install.
