Period after D&C
I just had a d&c on thursdayvafter a missed miscarriage at 8w2d
Haven't really bled to much since the d&c
My question is how do you know when the"bleeding" is your period and not from d&c

Re: Period after D&C
I am so sorry. I had a d&c after a 10 week missed miscarriage. I think my dr said after 3 weeks any bleeding would be a period. I also didn't bleed too much after the procedure. My period returned about 6 weeks after the d&c.

Period after D&C
I am so sorry for your loss, I found out at almost 12 weeks I had a MMC and had to have a D&C in May. I bled a little bit after, but then I was getting horrible cramping, like contraction type cramping. There were a ton of clots in my uterus and I had to take an induction medication to release everything. After that, I got my period 4 weeks later, ovulated 2 weeks after that, and got pregnant that cycle in June. I will be 17 weeks on Wednesday.
The clotting doesn't happen to everyone, usually people go on with no complications, so do not let that worry you, I just wanted to share that because my period came 4 weeks after taking that medication, not the D&C. I guess that finalized and cleared everything out. I took it about 3 or 4 days after my D&C.

Re: Period after D&C
Sorry to hear this. Last year, I had a missed MC. I got my period 3 weeks later. I got pregnant 3 mos later and now have a healthy 9 week old DS.
Take care of yourself and take all the time you need to mourn. It's a very difficult thing to go through.

Period after D&C
I'm so sorry. I didn't bleed much after my D&C. I definitely knew when I got AF. Completely different. It was about 5-6 weeks after.

Period after D&C
I bled for weeks after my D&C (not a lot, but a bit) -- I think I only stopped bleeding from the D&C for less than a week before I got AF, but AF was different ---the color, the feel -- you'll know the difference. I was worried I wouldn't, but you will. I got AF 6 weeks after D&C (yes, I bled for THAT long -- was really really frustrating). So sorry for your loss :(

Re: Period after D&C
I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a D&C in March also with a miss at 8w2d. I didn't bleed much like others said. I hit my first period following about 4 weeks later, but technically it was a period I could count towards a cycle because I still had the pregnancy hormone in me. You'll define know when it's your period. Please try to stay positive. I struggled to conceive and that was my first pregnancy but I'm currently 17w3d!!!
