I mentally & emotionally isolate myself to get through really bad times and focus on the next task at hand to get through the day. I also have a great support system even if I don't exactly lean on them.

Love and support from my family (especially my DH) and in a very extreme case, I used to meet with a psychologist on a weekly basis.

Cry. It helps me work through things and then I get so fed up with crying and it makes me want to go find something that is not stressful or sad to me.

KARATE does as well. Ever since I started last year, I let all my frustrations out during sparring. When this doesn't work, I cry until I'm done crying. Then I sit back and figure out how to make things better.

I agree, it was completely the love and support of my family. They knew enough to drop everything and come and help me when I asked for it. (It was after a horrible break up with an ex). I had never asked for help like that before or since, but knowing that I could count on them in that way makes me know I can handle anything that is before me. I also found that diving head first into a new project really helped me to leave the past behind and once there was sufficient time and distance beteween both I was able to go back, and address my feelings about the situation and move on emotionally. It was very cathartic once I did and afterwards, I met my DH and that was it. I knew everything would be great.
P.S. Chocolate helped a lot too.

I do that also - I try to think of other people that are going thru more then me and get strenght from there
and I remember a saying- G-D will not give you more then you can handle
