Perm Cert question...
When you applied for Perm Cert...How did you prove that you had worked for 2 years? DH had a major problem with NYC when he applied for his perm certification...which is typical of NYC. Is there are form I can get signed and send it myself??

Re: Perm Cert question...
I had no problem with this. My principal signed a form that I mailed in.

Re: Perm Cert question...
Doing it currently. I filled out this form from nysed
My principal wrote a letter verifying it and we are currently awaiting a superintendent or somebody to sign it.

Re: Perm Cert question...
i used a year from the city for my permanent license and the state did not ask for anything. technically, districts are supposed to report to ALbany whose on staff and under what license. that way, Albany already has it in their records when you apply....
but then again, the Board of Ed. is crazy so who knows....

Re: Perm Cert question...
I will be applying for my pert.cert next week at my graduate college c.w post next week. You have to go online to http://www.highered.nysed.gov/tcert/teach/ and create an account and pay $50.00 for the application fee and mail it to albany. However, I was told by my school to bring it to them to process the paper work and they will send it for me. I wouldn't mail it in myself because a friend of mine did that and her paper work was crossed in the mail. Also, it was a delay in processing her application and she was told by her principal that he received a letter from the nyc board of edu that she was in danger of being terminated. She had to apply for an extention for one year. Her situation was different because she let five years go by, but this happened to her last year. Also, the state knows how long you have been on you job so there is no need to get a letter from your principal.
