Re: Pet Groomer Story
There is a website, Badgroomer.com with more info. I worry about my dogs when they go but I was told they don't use cage dryers.

Re: Pet Groomer Story
I just called the place Rocky is going to go to for a grooming to ask them. She said they had one but they only use it if the dog is very agressive with the hand dryer and someone needs to stay and watch the dog thourghout the entire process so they avoid using it at all costs.

Re: Pet Groomer Story
the cage dryers and fluff dryers don't kill dogs. the cages that have dryers built in with a door that shuts can, and if groomers put on the fluff dryers with HOT air. the cages that are used in most salons have the door like a normal crate does so air goes in and out and if the air is cold or warm, there's no big deal in them. in my experience, the only salons that DONT kennel dry dogs with cage dryers on short snoutted dogs are the big corporate kind. at petsmart it was against policy and you'd get fired if you put one on a short snout dog. the size of the dog doesn't have anything to do with it. alot of the independently owned salons will kennel dry any and every breed. it's a quick process to them but it could leave the dogs harmed if they have upper respiratory issues and are sick. even if your salon has a fluff or cage dryer, don't assume they're using it inappropriately. they wouldn't make a product out there for salons to use if it was dangerous. it's how you operate it.
