Re: Petition for Restaurants to provide Nutrition info

I signed because I was once obese and I know what life as an obese person is like. It stinks.

But I have a few questions. In what types of restaurants would the nutritional information be posted in? Where would the information be posted (i.e. on the walls? menu inserts?)? If you allow me to play the devils advocate, how would the government force a diner where the menu is perhaps "tome-like" to post nutritional info for all items? It would be an arduous task to say the least. Fast food restaurants are easier as the menus are quite limited.

I dont think this petition is a futile attempt by any means. People have the right to access information. However, I would love to see people advocate for stronger health and phys-ed curriculums in schools that could translate into the home. The bad habits are formed at very young ages and are perpetuated through adulthood. Some are able to have epiphanies and make life long changes. Some are not. Old habits die hard. Perhaps a combination of both ideas could stop obesity sooner and keep all people healthy longer!
