Re: phone, cable, internet
crappyvision for all
droping phone and cable once my contract runs out (30 for each service for a year)
depending on Verizons fiber optic service, and pricing, will be hard but i'll switch on internet for more speed.

Re: phone, cable, internet
Careful -- the DSL service is not nearly as fast as Cablevision's. And, I tried to put it in for my business and had sooooo many problems. They may be improving but IMO, Verizon is not there yet.
Also I suggest you have a regular landline phone even if you use Optimum voice or similar. If you make a 911 call on a cable line they cannot trace it, and if there is an emergency you want the fire/police to know exactly where you are calling from.

Re: phone, cable, internet
We use cablevision for all - the one year triple play just expired our plan, so we pay $144 (ish) for all three - including the DVR cable box, which we love, and the regular cable (we get lifetime, MTV, etc but no HBO, etc)
Am tempted to switch to Vonage for phone tho - since it is cheaper (I think they have $20 for minimum use and $25 heavier use plans or something)..
But haven't looked into it yet.

your partially correct. As long as the modem does not leave the house it it registered to you will have no issues calling 911. The 911 operator will see your name number and address.

Re: phone, cable, internet
cablevision as well-our bill is $140 for all three but I hate optimum phone-it keeps setting off our central station alarm. As soon as the new high speed internet is in my area I'm switching & getting satelite. I'm sick of giving cablevision my money.

that is great. I once went for a job within cablevision, but they downsized and got rid of that department. That's a great perk!!!!

I think Babyboy is talking about Verizon FIOS, not DSL. My friend has it, and its awesome. I'd switch in a second but its not yet available in my area.
I agree calling it crappyvision - the only reason I still use them is because of the Dolan$ hockey monopoly...

She is probably referring to the "promotion"... getting it at a cheaper price... but she instead called it a contract.

I gotta admit the company seems to be pretty good. The one perk I am really liking is the employee ticket purchase option.
I got section 116 to Depeche Mode (can't wait!)
I am also getting NY Ranger tickets.
Face value for everything.... and good seats too!
I could have gotten Bon Jovi if I wanted... which was VERY tough to get tickets for... but those tickets were very pricey (even at face value). I was already seeing DM... so I passed on this one.

my SIL works for cablevision so I get to find out about those good ticket deals too. Def a nice perk!

But its not a contract you could cancel it anytime..
