Photo assistance~Barbara where are you?
I took these pictures of Jared today with the tree lights on and a small lamp behind me. Everytime I take pictures, I get blurs. Why can't I get clear pictures in the semi-dark? I've tried all the settings on my camera..I don't know what to do. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Photo assistance~Barbara where are you?
I'm not Barbara but I know a bit about photography too so maybe I can help.
The shutter speed is probably set too slow. You need a slow shutter speed to get proper exposure in low light but that will inevitably cause blur (even your heartbeat at really slow shutter speeds will blur the pic). So you need to do one of a few things, try each one individually before you combine them to see what gets you the best picture.
1. Increase your f-stop to a higher number AND then increase the shutter speed
2. Change the ISO on the camera to a more sensitive setting - you are probably shooting at around 200 - 400 (right?) so try going up one at a time.
3. Try playing around with the exposure compensation.
4. If all else fails, use a tripod to prevent camera shake.
Good luck! I can't wait to see how they come out!

I'm going to assume you're using the auto setting on your camera?
Also with the slow shutter speed (setting looks like a city with a moon) - if he moves the slightest bit it will be blurry.
A tripod as Sandra mentioned (or just use a table) will definitely help!

Yea -- I don't know a lot about my camera also. There are all these different settings that I've never even used.

Re: Photo assistance~Barbara where are you?
I tried using the slower setting but she moved too much so I put on a few lights, put the camera on auto, took the flash off and put her in her bouncy in front of the tree. I got a few good ones this way.
