Photo Props and Backgrounds?
After my TERRIBLE experience at Sears the other day trying to get Logan pics, I was thinking that I may just want to invest in some backdrops of my own and pick up props for whatever holiday is coming next.
Anyone ever do this or know where to get such things?

Re: Photo Props and Backgrounds?
I bought festive tableclothes and used them as backgrounds also black and white tableclothes or blankets. So far I have only toyed around with them.

professional backgrounds are expensive. i've bought fabric really cheap and use that. if you set it up so it hangs straight down the background blends nicely. you can cut two pieces-one to hang and then one for them to sit on.

Fabric store would be great for backgrounds and you could probably find some good sales too.
I love this picture

I think I am going to take on your idea. If I invest in a backdrop it wouldnt; be the worst thing to do but then I am limited to that color/type all the time. I can alwasy pick up different fabrics.

Re: Photo Props and Backgrounds?
I just went to The Fabric Mill the other day and bought some fabric for backgrounds. I got a black furry fabric and a cream velvet to play around with. DH was like ... We'll see how they come out!

Re: Photo Props and Backgrounds?
I took a picture of my son against a white blanket. I emailed this lady the picture and she inserted my son! It came back great! She uses my son as all the examples on Ebay now!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250172033833
My son is the Santa in the snow globe holding the big redornament (first Christmas pic)..
Second Chrismas pic Barbara took a picture of him at the park and I inserted it in the Christmas window pic It says Happy Holidays love Steven Dawn and Justin
After you get the pics she will give you the files all ready to enlarge. Regular 4x6 pics are about 19 cents each. I get them at Walmart and they are ready in about an hour! Best investment ever! She does my invitations also!

I bought huge pieces of black and white fabric. I like the solid backdrops. The EBay idea is great! Image Attachment(s):

Re: Photo Props and Backgrounds?
I use significant items for the backgrounds. I've painted several of the rooms in our house with different colors and techniques. The walls make great backgrounds. I've used their furniture, the house itself, my truck, a wall I built in front of the house, etc. That way, the photo has meaning, and so does the backdrop. I think it's nicer to tell DC "That was part of the wall that Daddy painted", instead of "That was backdrop #27 at the photo store..."
We've also used DC's blankets, some sheets, towels, etc. Still, all things that they've used.
