Photo Question
I know there are some great photographers out there so, does anyone have any tips for taking pictures without a flash? Even though I put DS near a window with lots of light, I tend to have a problem where the pictures come out blurry. I guess the shutter has to stay open too long. I've just been using my Canon Powershot SD400, but DH has a digital Canon Rebel SLR that I could use if that would help. I really only know how to use the SLR on the automatic settings though.

Re: Photo Question
I have the rebel, and love it!
I try to always use "natural light"- My best pics are the ones I take outside, or by the sliding glass doors...

I pretty much use the Nikon D70 on automatic setting also.
For indoor pictures, turn on every light in your house, open all of the blinds/curtains to let as much light into the room as possible.
I'm not sure about the Powershot since I've only used them when I'm asked to take someone's picture with their camera. If the Digital Rebel is coming out blurry too, I would say that maybe you have camera shake. Can you post or FM a picture of one of the blurry photos & we can see if we can figure it out.

Those pics you posted today came out incredible. You used the rebel?

Wow, I can't believe you use the automatic setting! You pictures always come out so beautiful! I guess I always thought you needed to know all about the camera setttings to get great pictures like yours.
I haven't tried to use the rebel yet, but I think I will give it a try. I'm a little bit intimidated by it! I've just been using the Powershot and I know that I definitely tend to get camera shake when I turn off the flash. Maybe because it's so small it's hard to keep it as steady.
