Photographer Vent

I'm just so annoyed at my photographer... I got married in April. All prior to the wedding he was great. Wrote me emails to me frequently to follow-up, confirmed the list of the must-take pics, etc.

The day of the wedding he was a totally different person. Very controlling, couldn't handle stress, and I even had someone ask if this was his first wedding. He got alot of great shots, but he missed soooo many that I had wanted. Such as the basic ones like the whole family, or just a nice shot of the whole BP. I was dancing with the FGs in a cirlcle, and I thought it was the cutest thing...since I was on my knees to be the same height as them, and he didn't get ONE shot of that. Yes, he took about 900 pics... but hellooo..I saw him sitting around doing nothing for awhile. He came to my house early and didn't bother telling me when he thought that I should start getting ready...so then on in everything was just rush rush rush.

Now, almost 6 months after the wedding, I wrote him an email askin about my video. He says that my account is in the deliquent state for non-payment. I havn't been making payments b/c in our contract the reason for paying AFTER that wedding is that if I am not satisfied, that he would work out something with me. I told him my concerns, and still have heard nothing...till today. I'm sooo pzzed right now. I wrote back a long professional soundng email saying how I think it's not right the way that he is acting for this. Why couldn't he send me an email before I was deliquent, or to ask what was going on...or just to even say that he is following up with payment....




I'm just super annoyed.... I really don't want to pay him at all anymore. I just want my video, album, and extra pics and be on my way... I paid him about half the contract price so far....

Am I being too dramatic??? Being 21 weeks preggo things tend to look differetnly LOL

I think you are entitled to be mad if you want. I liked the pictures that I had gotten and sure there were a ton of others that I wished he got and didnt but he was only one person and couldnt be seeing everything that was happening. I just asked everyone to send me copies of what they got so that if they got a good picture I had it too. It took at least 6 mo to a year to get my pics and video. Good luck with whatever you do but if hes withholidng pictures that you paid for thats not right.

i'm sorry you're going through this and you have every right to be annoyed. he is obviously not a professional. there were a lot of pictures that i didn't get that i wanted, but a lot i didn't know i got. you'll be happy with whateve you get in the end b/c i'm sure they are all beautiful!

i paid in full before the wedding, i guess that's how my contract worked. i did think it was a bit weird, but it didnt bother me. maybe offer to pay a little more, a compromise, so that he will start working on your stuff. i wish i had more advice. good luck!

I think they should have spoken to you about your account if they thought it was deliquent.

I think a lot of photogs do great jobs, and occassionally they miss shots. It isn't what we want to hear, but it does happen.

Hope that he 'fixes' the issues with your account and gets you the quality service that you are looking for.

Thanks guys. So now it's been two days and after my long professional sounding email to him, he sitll did not respond. I even fowarded that same email to him asking him kindly to advise my below questions to straighten this all up. STILL nodda.

He did't miss a few... I mean, he missed TONS that all other photographers come 2nd nature to them. Like just the family shot, or a bunch of candid shots dancing. I have NONE of those But, I def did see him sitting down in the lobby talking with the owner of the RH a few times during the night. And, there was about 60 pics of just food!! Food! So, you miss important shots of ME and my guests, to get pics of FOOD? We had 2 photographers, and 1 vidoe... I'm still waiting to see the video....
