Photographers: is there a good backdrop kit for a hobby photographer?
I am looking for something to use just to snap pics of my own kids-- don't worry, I won't become a faux-tographer and start charging for my horrible pics
I was looking at this set on amazon- any opinions?
Lighting/backdrop kit

Its a good starter kit for sure. Its easy, light weight the only thing is I will be honest the fabric it comes with is HORRIBLE since it attracts lint, wrinkles and so forth. Also do you have space for a ten foot span? And finally do you need 10 feet?

BTW nothing wrong with having a hobby and if it grows into a profession everyone needs to start somewhere. Just know its not a cheap hobby to have and if you go pro its certainly not a make money quick business. Eh the expenses are INSANE!

Thank you for responding. I didn't realize it was 10' lol. I probably don't need something that big.
Maybe I'll just find a stand and get paper backdrops.
I saw the rolls of paper are like $60 though....

You could always use a piece of wood trim (like a long flat stick) then put it above two chairs and put the drops on that with some small clamps. It won't stay if you have runners though. could for your own kids since its not a liability issue.

I think I'll try that. Thanks!
