Photography Moms- help me pick a background for first birthday/cake smash shots

I am doing an Abby Cadabby birthday theme so the invitation will take on the colors in the included sample. Mia is going to wear a tutu with blue, pink and yellow for the pictures. I am looking for background color ideas and am open to all suggestions! TIA!Chat Icon External Image

What are u using for the backround??? I would go with either the aqua blue color for the invite or maybe just white if her tutu and the invite are very colorful.

I am trying to pick a seamless paper color for the background. I am going to be using a white number 1 so I need a color it will show up against. I may choose 2 separate colors one for with the number one and just white for when I don't use it or maybe forgo the number 1.

I would forgo the number one and have the photo just concentrate on your beautiful daughter.

Colored seamless is tough to come by unless you order from B&H.

I would go with either white or a light pink. Aqua could be pretty as well but watch for color casts on the blue. Her skin may pick up the pink or blue so make sure you have enough light.

Good luck!!!

I was thinking about forgoing the number also. I was going to order the colored seamless online- I was liking the very vibrant colors but then had second thoughts about how much they would take away from her in the photos and thought to go on the lighter - good call about the color cast though- never thought of that . . . .

I agree - also, it's easiest to silhouette on white if you plan to cut her out and photoshop her onto the invite.
