Physiatrist or different type of dr for moderate stenosis
I have moderate stenosis in my neck and back as well as several herniated disks and facet disease. The pain has gotten so bad lately. I have seen neurologists, orthopedists, and physical therapists.I have also had epidural injections. Nothing is helping me except one type of pain pill they have given me (tramadol). I have just made an appointment with a physiatrist (which was requested by a friend of mine). What should I expect during this appointment- I am not quite sure what they will do and recommend for me. Any input would be greatly appreciated! I just want this pain to go away.

My dad has/had major stenosis. He would get epidurals for temporary relief but he ended up having surgery and has been much better

i saw a physiatrist for a while. he would order tests, do epidurals and prescribe meds as needed. if i needed to be on long term pain meds, he was going to send me to a pain mgmt doc. honestly, if its that bad, you really should be looking into a surgeon. if you've done the epidurals, pain meds, and PT you've pretty much exhausted options, unless you want to go the pain med route on a long term basis.
