Picking a fight
I feel like my DH constantly picks fights with me lately and I am sure we are just on a cycle....we go through weeks where we are lovey dovey and others we are always fighting
But, I don't get it! I wash and iron his clothes...and he nitpicks that his pants have lint on them. I make salads for him every night before work for lunch and he never says thank you or brings home the container. I clean the house from top to bottom and he complains that there is a coffee stain on the counter, but never notices that 99% of the time, the counter is clean.
I don't want to sound like a nag and I really don't want to give in to his fights...what do you guys do when your DH is in one of those unappreciative moods?!

STRIKE seriously he is more than capable to do the things you do... I remember ine time my husband came upstairs to complain that I left laundry in the dryer .... (I WAS HALF ASLEEP).. I said to him the amount of time it took your FAt Arse to get up here and tell me that you could have folded it yourself...LOL

Re: Picking a fight
I may seriously have to strike - I've done it before when he left his laundry on the floor instead of in the basket

Re: Picking a fight
Hell yea strike. Before we got our house we lived in an apt without a dishwasher. I got so fed up with him not doing a single dish that i stopped doing them. By the time the dishes were overflowing the sink and heading down the counter he did them. I made it very clear that my name is NOT Whirlpool.

Yep, I agree with the other responses. Strike. Sooner or later (most likely later) he'll see how much you really do.

Re: Picking a fight
honestly, I would make him start doing more things around the house. It sounds like he's getting spoiled...
I'd start by saying: "Since I suk at doing your pants, I'll let you do them for yourself from now on. Also, I'll give you some of mine to take care of"

Re: Picking a fight
there has to be more give & take. I cook, John does the dishes I dust, he vacuums i do laundry, he irons
You cannot be expected to do it all- it isn't fair.

Damm... my wife washes my clothes and I am VERY grateful. I would never complain... no matter how bad they come out. My blue jeans could turn green and I would still wear them.

Re: Picking a fight
I've had to learn that if DH does something in a way that I don't like, I find it better to just shut up and let it go. Like when he does laundry, he always leaves my stuff in a pile on my side of the bed. I'd rather he folded my stuff but the bottom line is that I am glad that he does it once in a while so I don't have to (it's "my" chore for the most part.)
I think maybe you should point this out to your DH- that if he is not happy with how you do things, then he should do it himself. If you're going to do it for him, he has no right to gripe.

This is my attitude too. If he knows the correct way to do everything, and it is not the way you do it, he should feel free to jump in and take over that task. If my DH complained about lint on his pants, I would buy him a lint brush. My DH does his own laundry, maybe yours should too

I totally agree. If he has to do it himself he will quickly appreciate how much you do for him.

Re: Picking a fight
DH does a lot around the house...but if he EVER complains about the way I do something, I just tell him fine, I won't do it anymore.
I do not fold his shirts and socks theway he likes so they just get draped across a chair.
