Picking curtains?
Where do you buy curtains and how do you know what will look good? I dislike all my curtains, including the new ones I just bought. They are too thin and too long (I knew they would need to be shortened because of the heater). And although I like the pattern, I just don't like the way it looks on my window. I feel like just getting rid of them (not returnable) instead of trying to get them shortened and lined.

I've gotten curtains from Target, Kmart, Ikea, Home Good, Bed Bath & Beyond....
I tend to add 4 panels to each window to bulk up the look and make it look not-so-thin and flimsy. I also prefer long panels, 84", so instead of hemming, I will just push the curtain rod up; I don't necessarily hang it at the top of the window.
I would do a search on Pinterest "how to dress a window". You'll get some great tips there.

I buy curtains everywhere. I try and look for a good deal though because I hate paying a lot, they can add up fast. Check out Wayfair.com , Overstock.com , and even One Kings Lane. They have nice things and Wayfair is really cool because they also give you design ideas and tips.
Pinterest is great for window ideas and how best to hang your curtains. Do a search in there and check some out.

The curtains at Country Curtains in Nassau County are gorgous but expensive.
