picky eaters- toddlers- game over?
Over the past few months, jacen has gone from eating everything to the list getting rather SHORT!
One of his staples was pasta. Now he won't touch it anymore. He won't touch 90% of the foods he used to eat all the time.
This kid is going to live on pb&j, ham and hot dogs.
No more veggies. Luckily he loves fruits.
So ladies... is this it? I mean it's been months now so i'm starting to think this isn't a phase.
what happened to my good eater???

Re: picky eaters- toddlers- game over?
Nina used to eat every single thing that was put down in front of her. Over the past 6 months her eating has become ridiculous and frustrating. Today, Nina ate 3 cheese doodles the whole day. I know she wont starve herself and as long as she is drinking she is ok, but I hate it. She usually loves fruits and veggies but she wouldn't even touch them today. Everyone keeps promising me that in time she will go back to eating, but it doesn't really make me feel any better.

Re: picky eaters- toddlers- game over?
Christopher is the same way. From like 12 months til like 20ish he was fabulous.
Now he sucks. He doesn't ever eat what we do. Today he ate a handful of cereal, one bite of lunch (which was a cheese roll up from Taco Bell ), 0 dinner and a unfrosted cupcake (b/c the frosting was yuck)
I think its a control thing. Or I am getting karmic retribution for what I put my parents through

Re: picky eaters- toddlers- game over?
Same thing over here! My DD used to be a great eater and now at almost 21 months its brutal. I feel like I'm running a diner because I always want her to eat so I make different things. She used to eat so much more and now there are only a few things in the rotation. I'm praying it improves but at this rate its not looking good!

Re: picky eaters- toddlers- game over?
DD (22 months) has her days where she eats a lot and days where I think all she drinks is milk.
New trick that has worked this week: She loves ketchup on everything and always asks for more (even when she has plenty) So I've been telling her - "eat a piece of chicken and I'll give you more ketchup" - Amazingly this has worked and she has finished most of her meals for the past 3 nights.
By the way I only give her a tiny squirt of ketchup each time...

Abby is 100% a behavioral eater. She eats anything and everything at day care - often eating off of other kids' plates. When it comes to eating at home, she fights me tooth and nail. When we go out, she eats somewhere in the middle. Hang in there.

Re: picky eaters- toddlers- game over?
same here....DS will only eat meat. He eats any kind, but especially loves hot dogs and chicken. He will eat fruit, but NO veggies. I keep putting a variety in front of him, but with no avail!
I think it is a phase that they will eventually outgrow! Hopefully!!!

DD doesn't eat much either and forget produce! I know what she has on her shortlist and that is what she eats. I offer other stuff all the time but that is "yuck".

Re: picky eaters- toddlers- game over?
DC ate anything and everything in sight when they were starting to eat. Then, somewhere around 2 or 3, their list got shorter. DS is 6.5, and he's been eating a lot better know. He's (reluctantly) trying new foods, and liking many of them, and is very interested in health and nutrition. Of course, given a choice, he'd still rather have pizza, but he's getting there....
