Pics of DD christening (lots of pics including candy buffet shots)
Yesterday was DD's christening. It was such a great day. She was a little rock star. I was worried about how she would be with the lack of naps, but she got in two in the morning and then took a cat nap when we first got to the reception and a little later into the party. She was great all day---never cried. She was fine being passed around. She ended up being the only baby at the church, which was great. She was "talking" and smiling at the Deacon. When we got home, she was wired and giddy. I couldn't get her down until 9. She seems to be a real party girl!
Now for the details! We had the reception at the Knight's of Columbus in E. Northport. It was a big room and a good price. The room was pink, which wouldn't have worked so well if we had a boy, but perfect for DD!
I found a pic of the wheatgrass/gerber daisy CPs and wanted to DIY. Someone DH knows grows wheatgrass, so he grew it for us and put in my silver trays (purchased at jamaligarden.com). We got Gerber Daisies through a local florist. Yesterday am, I cut the daisies and popped in the grass. I think they came out great!
The candy buffet was a labor of love! The glass jars, vases and 3-tier trays were all stuff I had in the house. The fabulous Ang-Rich made all the signs and the stickers for the bags! I loved them. I ordered candy through economy candy and candy warehouse. I made the cake pops and choc-covered pretzels (a last minute addition) and I ordered meringues from Miss Meringues. The Macarons (not pictured- DARN!) were ordered from Pistacia Vera in Ohio. They were DELISH!
I made a little sign that said "Not Yet" and the other side said "Dig In." And I kept lids and saran wrap on the candy until we were ready for dessert. Fortunately, no one was picking before dessert.
The cake was from A&G in North Babylon. It was delicious, but my parents ordered it for 80 people--way too much. We have sooo much left over. Next time, we're ordering for half the crowd.
Oh, and the dress! It was from baby beau & belle--christeninggowns.com. It was beautiful and very soft and comfortable. DD stayed in it all day. And her adorable party headband was from Lavender Ladybugs (LIF'er labonnevie). I got so many compliments on it!
The only bummer about the day was that I never got a picture of DD completely alone. We dressed her at the church because she napped up until the last minute. I think I'm going to take her to Target or JCP this week and get a pro shot.

Very pretty. I love your "Not Yet" sign. We had a problem at my son's 1st bday. Wish I had thought of a sign- I won't go into details b/c I'll get myself mad all over again, lol.

Yup. And the reverse side said, "Dig In" so we just flipped it around when we were ready.

Wow! All of your hard work shows - what a fantastic table!
I give you a ton of credit for all the baked goods too..anyone that has made cake pops know how much work goes into them and you made a ton! Your guests must have been over-the-moon happy to get their hands on the goodies!
Love everything and I am totally stealing the table sign idea! That is genius!!!!
More importantly...your daughter is gorgeous! Love the dress and the headband! So beautiful!

Thank you! I'll email you some pics of the stickers (and mail the ones we talked about) and labels so you have them. Everyone loved them! I thought about the table sign at the last minute--it worked out well. Thanks again!
