Pics of my son
There was a mix up at the hospital and it took longer than expected for my son's pictures to come back.
I just got the call that they're in. I can pick them up in an hour.
I haven't seen his face in 23 long days....

I have a pic of my daughter right next to my bed, and carry one with me all the time. In an odd way, it helps me...

I have a picture next to my bed of my dh and I holding Ryan but you can't see his face. This picture has been a big comfort to me but for the last 2 weeks all I want to do is see his face. I'm afraid I won't remember it.

I completely understand how you feel...
When we had to bury Sarah, I tried so hard to remember exactly how she looked that day (I'm sorry if this is too disturbing of a thing to type...) She looked beautiful. We had her dressed in a beautiful gown, and she really looked like a perfect little baby. I cry now, because the vision in my head has faded...I can no longer perfectly recall everything. So having the pics that we do have from the hospital mean so so much to me...
My heart breaks for you every single day...I hope that you are doing okay...

It's exactly the same -- we bought him a little outfit and made sure he had everything he needed and was comfortable. As the days pass I have trouble getting the picture clear in my head.
You know I've had the pictures for an hour and I'm afraid to open the envelope. I don't know how I'm going to react. I feel better that I have them though.

Thank you -- I hate that we're in these circumstances but I appreciate you sharing your experiences with me. It def. makes it easier.

DH and I opened them together last night after DS1 went to bed. They were beautiful. The nurse who took care of us did an amazing job. You can see what good care of Ryan she took.
When we went home they gave us a memory box of things. There was a little gown that I could tell he had worn but didn't know when -- it was for the pictures. Everything made a little more sense.
I'm so glad I got to see his little face again and that now I can look at it whenever I need/want to.
Thank you for all of the support ladies. I can't tell you how much it means.
