Picture prices
What do you typically spend on professional pictures? I know there are all kinds of packages available, but I am just curious what most people walk away spending. Do you stick with the packages? Do you add on? I really want to get some done, but after being out on maternity leave and with Christmas coming, I am totally broke. What should I expect to spend? Is it worth it? Also, does anyone have any tips on how to keep the cost down?

Re: Picture prices
I know Target has a package. I think its $10.00 you get 1 - 8 x 10, 2 - 5 x 7s, 4 - 3½x5s, 16 wallets
If you can be strong and not buy all the extra pictures they try and sell you. I usually end up buying them all. That's why I am taking someone with me.

That doesn't seem bad at all. How is the quality? Are the backgrounds nice? If I take DH with me, I'll probably only walk away with one picture!!!

Re: Picture prices
I've spend 100 bucks twice, the first time at picture people and the 1st time at Jcpenney. Jcpenney got me, they put together this collage thing, i couldn't resist-30 bucks later errrr..
But besides the first time-since i purchase the club cards, i don't spend no more than 30-40 bucks.
LAst time at KK i spent 16 bucks for 2 sheets cause i had a coupon for a free 8x10-i never go without coupons.
I hate paying these places to take pics that i could take at home but i dont' have right lighting in my house.
I know it's wrong but i go home and scan my prints in, upload em into shutterfly and print em out for everyone in matte.

I was happy with the pictures. I am actually taking her back for her Christmas pics next week.

Re: Picture prices
I spent 120. at KK...I didn't realize you could just take 1-2 sheets...we got one of the packages. Ideally we wouldn't have gotten the 25 Christmas cards which probably cost about 50.
They did a nice job, although truly we only liked 1-2 of the 6 poses.
