pill for nausea?

So I was at my OB yesterday and told her that I've been suffering from ALL DAY nausea with little or no relief. I never actually vomit, I just feel like I may at any moment (sorry if TMI). Anyway she gave me a prescribtion for a pill called Ondansetron has anyone ever taken this? She said it was AOK for me to take while pregnant but I was concerned since I hadn't heard of it before. Just wondering!

Thats Zofran....and yes many of us have taken it.

I actually had an IV infusion pump late in my pregnancy for it, as I had hyperemesis and did not stop throwing up.

I researched it high and low and its very safe in Pregnancy, its prescribed often...

there is not a ton of evidence about the use/safety of zofran in pregnancy. but having said that, there is not much evidence for any medicine in pregnancy (with a few exceptions) because of ethical reasons.

zofran is used a ton by OBs, and the evidence that is available suggests that it is safe. many women on here have taken it throughout pregnancy and have gone on to have beautiful, healthy babies. so if it would make your life more bearable right now, i say go ahead and take it.

and hang in there, chances are your morning sickness will go away eventually

oh, and just as an fyi, you may know this already, but i thought i would mention it, zofran can cause constipation, so don't be alarmed if you notice this

I wa son it but just to let you know it causes MAJOR constipation, take fiber becaus i once ddint go for over 8 days....

I took 200mg of Colace a day to help the constipation.

I take it, Zofran. It is such a life saver. I originally started on Reglan but I could not sleep at all while on it. I couldn't eat at all before and now I can eat a little bit (muffins and eggo waffles).

Feel better, I know how horrible it feels.

I was on zofran for the first five months of my first preganancy. (gIRL) it saved me!!

Now i am preg. for the second time and needed it for the first 3 1/2 months. it was great again, especially since i have to care for my 3 year old. Now i'm six moths pregnant and everything is a-ok! (BOY)

I never expereinced constipation either times. it just cured my sickness! It's a life saver in my eyes!!!

My cousin was also on it and felt the same way i did!

My doctor gave me nothing, but I would have taken the zofran if she gave me a script for it.

Zofran is the BEST!!!

It was either Zofran for me, or months of hospitalization...

Cailen is a very healthy baby!!!
