I have never cleaned mine. I just wipe it down. I didn't think you were supposed to wash it w/soap and water so it could become seasoned.

I have a Pampered Chef pizza stone and I just scrap off anything that is baked on.

the "charm" of the pans is that they get seasoned and change color.

Re: Pizza stone-how do you clean yours?

no...no soap...only water....and use the scrapper thingy they gave with the stone. That will take off any stuff that is stuck.

Tell DH Dont put it in the dishwasher again...the stone is porus and will hold the soap in it. Im sure its fine the one time you did it but dont do it again. You might ruin the stone

yeah... just use water. i have the one from pampered chef and it came with a little scraper and a paper that said not to use soap. apparently its abosrbent and its supposed to soak up all the oils, etc from the pizza dough, and get all "aged". i thought it was weird at first, too... but i guess it makes sense!

Oh i am so glad you posted this! Mine looks so dirty and my brother told me never to wash it with soap and water. But there are things stuck to it. I have made pizza on it, baked chicken cutlets on it. How do i get anything stuck on there off. I know you said to scrape it but mine did not come with a scraper. Can i soak it in hot water in the sink and then scrape everything off of it?

Yep, just use hot water and no soap! I have a few different sizes, and the dirtier they look, the better they work!

Re: Pizza stone-how do you clean yours?

I use baking soda and water to clean it and use the scraper to scrape anything off.

But to be honest........I do use a little soap to clean it. Chat Icon I never pour the dishwashing liquid directly on it....I just pour a drop on a papertowel and use it w/ a ton of water running.

And my stone ware does not taste like soap at all. LOL I know you are not supposed to use the soap, but I broke the rule a long time ago and haven't had a problem since! Chat Icon
