Pizza today
Anyone else find that the pizzas today are just not satisfying? Our usual pizza place is going downhill. We've tried other local pizzerias and we're just finding the quality isn't that great (cheap cheese, over seasoned sauce...) I would love a good Brooklyn kind of style pizza in my area.

Pizza today
DH and I go to Queens for pizza. We've tried almost every pizzeria in our area and none are good so we gave up and get what we know, even if its 40 minutes away.
Yup, we take our pizza very seriously.

Re: Pizza today
We have a pizza place by us that is the closest to Brooklyn pizza I have found, Our Little Italy in west Islip. It has a lot to do with the cheese. If it's not quality, you taste it. Of course they say it's the water, but to me, it's the cheese.
I love their pizza so much that I prefer the regular slice over anything else. It's that good.

Pizza today
There are only 2 places where I really like the pizza around here. I've also become super picky in my old age lol. Pizza needs to be fresh, out of the oven, and with gooey cheese. No more reheated pizza that's been sitting on the counter where the cheese is all congealed.

Re: Pizza today
There are some good places around but totally agree some local places have the thinnest crust now (not in a good way), less cheese, etc.

Which pizzeria in Queens do you go to? Just curious since I'm originally from Queens and my parents still live there. I still prefer my Queens pizza!

Re: Pizza today
For regular, Carlo's in Middle Village. For Sicilian, Rosa's in Maspeth.
I'm trying to eat low carb but we're going to be in Queens next weekend and I already told DH I will cheat for Rosa's! My parents still live there, too

Re: Pizza today
I'm sort of picky about pizza. I really only love brick oven and coal fired pizza. Pizzeria shop pizza can be good, but I feel like I only like a couple of places. Many seem very salty or even too garlicky to me. And I love garlic!

Re: Pizza today
Yes, I cannot find a good pizza place. I always really like Umbertos but not love it. I just picked up a slice from La Vera for DS in NHP & it looked unappetizing.
