Place to get inexpensive, but quality appliances?
I remember a few years ago on here, when I was looking to buy my stainless appliances for the kitchen, someone posted about a Sears outlet, or maybe a GE outlet-- where you can get brand new appliances with like a ding, or an inexpensive missing part for a crazy discounted price.
Anyone know what I am talking about?? I think we need a new washer/dryer and plan to sell within a year-- but, my dryer keeps leaving little burn marks on things and I am just WAITING for it to ruin something good.

you can try PC Richards, i just dont remember which one, but one of them has a huge scratch n dent section where they sell anything with minor cosmetic damage, we bought a tv there a few years ago for 300 bucks less bc the little door that hides the buttons on it had a broken hinge....... i am sorry i dont remember what location it is but i am sure you can call them to find out
good luck

There's a Sears Outlet in Deer Park on Deer Park Avenue.
North of Southern State on the corner of DPA and Bay Shore Rd.

I dont know if they have them up in NY, but HHGregg has great prices on appliances (and they're always running sales to top it off!).

The scratch and dent store for PC richards is in Deer park. I would suggest appliance by phone. They have all the name brand stuff brand new but discounted. There is no delivery fee and no taxes. We brought our washer, dryer and tv from there. They are wonderful.

Re: Place to get inexpensive, but quality appliances?
The PC Richards on Commack Rd (near the outlets) is a regular store with a huge clearance area in the back (they even have some of the high end appliances like Viking, Miele, Gaggenau, etc). Sears Outlet is on Montauk Hwy in West Babylon (KMart shopping center) and they have a lot of washers and dryers. There's also a small store just north of the PC Richard's store on Commack Rd - north of the railroad, on the east side - you walk through their furniture area to get to the appliance clearance area. I forgot the name but it's some big appliance place in the city. They have high end clearance items there also.

Re: Place to get inexpensive, but quality appliances?
PC Richards in Deer Park (across from the outlets).
We bought an LG glass top stove, a fridgidaire dishwasher, an Avanit apartment sized top-freezer fridge (as our bar fridge) and a Fridgidaire upright freezer. The only piece that wasn't a "scratch and dent" was the upright freezer.
We got all four pieces for less than $1,500. That is the "sales floor" price of the oven and freezer combined.
There was a small dent on the side of the stove, and the fridge and dishwasher didn't have a boxes. You can't tell that we didn't pay full price. And we still got the protection plans.
They also give a law enforcement discount although I am not sure of the % (maybe 10%?).
I would definately recommend.
