Place where I booked DS's party for next Saturday closed
and they never contacted me!
I AM FURIOUS right now...
His party is next Saturday and was supposed to be at Little Gym in College Point.
I decided to call to check in (I left a$100 deposit in December and got a receipt)....and it was a different name of a place...It said welcome to Family Fun Fitness formally known as Little Gym. I freaked out.
I left a message with the headquarters of little gym...but I've already had RSVP's for the party and everything ready to go...cake ordered, etc.
I am so upset right now and it's 7:22am and there is no one I can yell at! I feel like crying!
I know he's only 2 and won't know the difference, but what if people can't make it if I have to change the date with such short notice.
That and I want my $100 back!!!

I am pretty sure the same guy owns it. My friend is having her son's party there next month, so I know they're still doing parties.
ETA: I'm looking at the invitation right now and the places where it said "Little Gym" have a sticker over it saying "Fit Family Universe."

I hope that's true...I am freaking out and can't do anything about it at 7:30 in the morning.
The website just says its family fun universe with classes for kids and adults...not sure how that changes the place or the activities or if it's even open yet.
I am going to call again later and go by after work to see it.

Hopefully they still plan on having the party under the new management. If not, and you would like to book another place, I know a few other places close to there. I had DDs 2nd bday party at a place not too far from there. FM me if you are interested. Good luck!
also- if you paid the $100 by credit card, and they dont have the party, try to deny the charges.

 Hopefully they just changed names and its the same owner. Or at least the new owner has plans to honor contracts.

Aw Denise how frustrating!!! Hopefully everyone is right and it was just a name change. I know a lot of Dairy Barns near me are now called Dairy Mart because they didn't want to pay the franchise fees and such. It's probably the same situation.

Well it is the same owners they just changed the name...I even drove by and checked to make sure it looks the same inside.
They should have contacted me, but at least everything is going to be the same...
Really unnecessary stress I don't need!

Hi! I can relate to the unexpected shock when trying to make everything perfect for our children. Hopefully, I can help out here. My husband owns BounceU Farmingdale & after sharing your story with him, he has agreed to absorb your deposit that you lost if you are interested in any of the dates he has available. He is there today, if you want to give him a call & check it out. (631)777-5867 (JUMP), his name is Frank. He has dealt with many situations like yours & has a soft spot for Moms in a pinch.
