Places to install car seat
Anyone know any precincts or whatnot that install infant seats?

Just be warned that most of them fill up their events really quick. I called a bunch on Friday. North Shore Plainview is taking reservations for November 22, October is full. The Nassau County Traffic Board (car seat Chris on here) only does daytime during the week. I booked a spot through Schneider's Children's Hospital at their event on October 17 that they are holding at AAA in Garden City.

just to give you a heads up- that website says the town of hempstead does it Wed 9am-12pm, but they actually do it a few days/week at different locations. Just call the number to set up a time with them (im not sure if you need to be a resident of the town of hempstead though...)
ETA: you can also call your local firehouse. If they dont do it, they may be able to refer you to someplace close that does.

Not sure where you live but Hassell Auto Body in West Babylon does it. You don't need appointments. I just call up the morning of to make sure someone will be there to do it. They have two people onsite - I have been in/out of there in minutes. They are amazing!
ETA: I have asked Client Services numerous times to pin this information at the top of the Pregnancy board so that everyone has the information right there. We get posts about this everyday - the information should be readily available to all IMO

Nassau County Traffic Safety does installations 3 days a week as well as will be doing several events throughout nassau. Call 571-5033 to make an appointment.

I went to Good Sam to have in Inspected. It was at an outpatient facility of the hospital. If you need the phone number and directions let me know.

We actually just did ours this weekend.
My dh works for a car dealership and his dealership had a certified installer there. They installed it, then made sure dh knew exactly what he needed to do to make sure i was correct.
Dh works in PA, so i am not sure if all car dealership have one.

The Town of Hempstead is running an event in Lynbrook at Greis Park next Sat (10/17) from 10-2, but you must call ahead for appointments. I don't have the number with me but maybe it's available online?
