Places to take pictures...
I'm loving the fall..with all the trees changing colors. It's going to be so nice in the next couple of days...I was wondering, does anyone know of places to go to take pictures?
I was going to go to Old Westbury Gardens but they're only open on Sundays. I'm looking for places with extraordinary scenery, that would look gorgeous during the fall...
I'm willing to drive anywhere....

I love Planting Fields Arboretum in the Fall (Oyster Bay area). Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Oakdale is also extraordinary...right on the Connetquot River- great place for pics!

I forget the name of it but there is a GREAT park in Hauppage off of 347 -- maybe Sunken Meadow? We usually do a walk there for Crohn's Disease (my mom has it) every fall and the scenery is beautiful. There is a lake there and with the t rees all around it it is really a nice view.

Re: Places to take pictures...
It's Blydenburgh Park-right across from the state buildings on 347. If you are really in the mood to drive you could go to the cloisters off of the Henry Hudson Pkwy-let me know if you need directions. In Babylon there is a pretty town lake with some scenery. You could also try Lake Ronkonkoma. If you want a beach try Sunken Meadow or Crabmeadow in Northport.

We did our engagement pics in the fall at Bayard Cutting and our wedding pics at Planting Fields. Both are beautiful. We`did Bayard in the fall - the have a stream which is really pretty.
Also love Sands Point Preserve. The castle is interesting looking, and they have woodland trails as`well as beachfront, so you can get a wide variety of shots.
Try LI Tourism for ideas. they should have all the county & state parks listed as well as many of the local town parks.

I think that Hempstead Lake State Park is in West Hempstead and it's beautiful! There is a lot to do in that park. I know that it's a big park for bird watchers .I believe that they have horses there to ride on the trails, so Jared might enjoy seeing them walking by.

Oh, and I'm not a bird watcher, I used to work in tourism and birdwatching was part of an eco-tourism project I worked on.
