Planet Earth

Did anyone watch this on discovery? It took them 5 years to make and it's all in HD. DH and I were mesmerized watching it and totally in awe of what they captured on video.

We DVR'd it and finally finished watching the 3 episodes last night.

There are new episodes every Sunday night at 8.

Yes, we were Chat Icon Chat Icon at everything. Great shots, not big on the "killing" parts but amazed at how they captured it. They did an amazing job.

We had it in the UK last year and its a totall amazing programme. IMO the BEST one is the one about Caves, they are saving it for the last in the series in the US. Its completely and utterly awe inspiring. Are they showing the 10 minute makings of at the end of the programme? The photographer waiting for the Birds of Paradise told such a good story.

David Attenborough is a living legend, but I don't think he is narrating this in the US...I think its Sigourney Weaver isn't it...

Anyway, watch the Caves one. Its amazing.

I can't wait to see it. They showed clips about the Elephant being eaten by the lions....it was so sad to watch. But that's nature. The shots and the way they slow certain scenes is great!

The film makers were really highly criticised on that one, should they have stopped the lions from killing the elephant...but in the end, the film makers feel that its their job to document nature, not affect it!

Brilliant! Did you see Blue Planet?

Yes, we DVR every show. DH is in awe. Chat Icon

It just sux b/c I feel like I have to look away or walk away from the TV when the "hunt" or "killing" comes on. I hate that and cannot ever watch that b/c it makes me feel so bad for them. I end up getting all depressed and its all I think about.

Although, I get excited and happy when DH says "Don't worry, he got away".

It's nature....why would they interfere? It would have happened if they were there or not.

Blue Planet? I don't think that one has aired yet?!
