Planner and Grade Book Suggestions...
I will be teaching 2nd grade in the fall and was wondering which planner and/or grade book you suggest or don't suggest.
Thank you!

Re: Planner and Grade Book Suggestions...
I use whatever ones my school has on hand...don't think it matters. Although I do use the same grade book year after year (and just staple the previous years pages together) since there's not a ton of things to grade at that young of an age.

Re: Planner and Grade Book Suggestions...
I make my own "planner" on the computer so that I don't have to rewrite certain things each week.
I also have my gradebook on the computer. I made one in excel which makes it easy to find averages. It also makes it easier to not have to carry the books back and forth to school since I save it as a google doc and can open it anywhere.

Yeah, congrats!!!!!
I use the planner from lakeshore (their brand that is a freebie). I like it b/c it has a monthly calendar, too, so I can put my daily to do list in it.
I also get the lakeshore record book. It has plenty of room for everything!!!

I also agree with the computer idea! Just put it on your jump drive. Then you can edit it at home or at work!

I use this plan book as well and when I taught 2nd grade, I used a record book once, then I made spreadsheets and printed them to record grades and kept them in the plan book-you have to see how it all feels for you...

i do the same... i do one week on two pages and then I photocopy it doublisided so that when it's in my binder and my binder is open I see one week at a time, make sense? it's the best. i put all the specials, lunch, pull-outs, etc. in once and then it's done for the year so i don't have to rewrite every week. for me, i did a blank box for every half hour, but for my special ed. kids, most lessons only went a half hour.

OMG! That's exactly what I do!!! I also make colored boxes for different pull outs! LOL. I'm very Type A with work stuff!!! Glad to see someone else is similar!
