Planning our honeymoon **Update in original post
We'll be married 2 yrs in Jan and because of DH's injury we had to postpone the honeymoon. We finally will be going for our 2 yr anniversary
BUT we're undecided on where to go...
Cabo San Lucas Riviera Maya Domininac Republic
Any feedback would be great!
8/13/07 UPDATE: We went with Excellence Punta Cana in DR. Booked it tonight for 8 days 7 nights in Jan. And it can't come fast enough!

Re: Planning our honeymoon.
I went to Riveria Maya a couple years ago and stayed at The Royal Hideaway and it was awesome! One of my best vacations ever. It's all inclusive. The food was great and the service was even better. I hope to go back some day!

ETA: My company owns these hotels in Cabo. Westin and the Sheraton . I havent been but lots of my coworkers have. They all had great times there but their biggest complaint about Cabo overall is that since it's on the west coast the water isnt calm like the carribbean.

Thank you for your reply. My biggest concern about Cabo is the water also. I know some areas have swimable beaches but most do not.
The Roayl Hideaway in Riviera is amazing. I looked up a price on line and it's pretty pricey....$5700
I'm so confused on what to do. We can't get a straight flight to Cabo or Rivieria Maya on our own, but the travel agent could. At $700 more (for both) than the 1 stop flights. But we can get straight flights to DR. Not sure if it's worth the extra $$ or not. I'm so mad at myself, I found non-stop flights about a month ago and didn't book it

Re: Planning our honeymoon.
The prices for RH online are I went a few years ago before the hurricane (oct 2005). I know it was expensive back then, but the prices now seem to have skyrocketed. Not sure its bc of the hurricane or not. We booked it through a travel agent. Maybe they can get you a better deal.
Also try the El Dorado. Kimberly went there and it looks amazing as well.

Re: Planning our honeymoon.
I would pick the Riviera Maya. You weren't able to find direct flights on expedia? I know that JetBlue flies into Cancun too. If you go to DR, I suggest going to Punta Cana over Puerto Plata. It's on the caribean side and has MUCH nicer beaches. From all of my friends who have been to Cabo I don't have a burning desire to go. They say it's beautiful, but they didn't feel there was a lot to do and everything is $$$. Plus it's the longest flight of the bunch. If you're looking to do Pacific Coast, I would suggest looking into Puerto Vallarta.
