Please be honest
Is it ok for me to have a half a cup of coffee in the mornings. I know that too much wouldn't be good - but I really just need a couple of sips to get my day started. If it's bad though I won't drink it.
What do you think?

Re: Please be honest
Totally fine. I'm not a daily coffee drinker, but when I get a craving for coffee I have it. I even have espresso when I feel like it. My BF is preggo and has a cup, or two, of coffee every day through her entire pregnancy. Whatever you do, try not to let yourself get crazy about what you can/can't or should/shouldn't eat. Take everything into consideration and then mane your own choices.

Thanks! That's what I thought but I figured I would come to the pros to see what you guys thought about it.
Even those couple of sips make a world of difference!

Re: Please be honest
My doctor said it was ok to have a cup or 2 a day. Warm drinks made me sick in the beginning anyway, so it didn't matter to me.

I still drink coffee. My doc said it's fine. I went from about 8 cups a day to about 3 or 4.

Re: Please be honest
I am more a soda person than coffee, but I am with you on this.
In the beginning, I tried to avoid it all together because of the things you hear. Now, I allow myself one glass of (regular) soda a day. Apparently, you can drink up to like 3 without harm, but I am not going to go that extreme.
Everything in moderation........

Re: Please be honest
I think that anything in moderation is fine. I am not a coffee drinker, but I certainly didn't eliminate all caffeine frmo my diet (hello- chocolate!) and I have a very healthy, peaceful little girl.

Re: Please be honest
I had a cup of coffe from my 2nd trimester on. Wether I remembered to drink the whole cup (8-10oz cup) was different story. If I went to a place that I could make it I would split it half and half. If I knew they had flavored Decaf I would get that but I know their have been times when I told them and they would give me regular and then I would ask them again and they had to remake it.
ETA: I couldnt stomach the smell of coffee the first trimester that is why I didnt have it. DH couldnt even make it in the house he needed to buy it on his way to work. I also think in moderation is fine. I dont think you should go cold turkey if you normally drink it just cut back.
