Thank you for posting this. Anyone who is skeptical please read past the #1 reason and read onto 2 - 5. Many MANY dogs that are "free to good homes" end up in the wrong hands, and also many that want them for breeding, baiting or auction (if it is not altered) will know EXACTLY how to appear as a legitimate interested owner. A home visit is the best way to expose them. They will never agree to a home visit if they have something to hide.

to me, rich people can neglect a dog just as much or more so than a poor person. it depends on the individual. i think adoption fees are fine as well as free to good home. the problem is that these animals that are free to good home are going free to neglectful home.
i wont click the link, ill be upset if i do...
just wanted to give my opinion on the matter.

It's not a question of rich or poor. Poor people can certainly make loving owners. It's about the perception of getting something for free.
