Please dress me
SO's party is 5 months out.
* invitations are ordered and delivered (to my cousin's house)
* guest list is almost complete (a hiccup about two guests)
* venue is two payments away from being paid
* cake has been ordered
* decorations are coming together on the DL
now, to figure out what the hell i'm going to wear.
i dream of a wrap-type dress with boots. i was even considering knitting myself a shawl.
it's an outdoor party in mid-december, in southern california. i want to embrace it being winter, but i also want to buy something that can be "modified" if we have a blazing hot december.
help.
ps. a friend who does makeup for a living has offered to do my makeup for me! yay... grown up makeup!
ETA: i'm 5'2", am a bit overweight... and i tend to carry it in the middle. but i'm on a diet and have already lost 7lbs.

no theme, exactly.
some things will be decorated in black because it's the birthday boy's favorite color.
i was toying with maybe wearing red. it's my favorite color, goes well with black, helps to be found in the crowd.
