Please give your recipe for the best dip you ever made!
My favorite cold dip is spinach dip. I use the recipe on the Knorr's package and leave out the water chestnuts. I usually serve it in a bread bowl with pieces of bread, carrots, celery, bread sticks, etc.
My favorite hot dip is a super easy chili dip:
2- 8 oz packages cream cheese softened 2- 15 oz cans of chili (whatever brand you like) 1- package taco seasoning Taco blend shredded cheese
-Preheat oven to 350 -Mix 1/2 of the taco seasoning with 1 package of cream cheese and spread in the bottom of a small casserole dish. -Top cream cheese mixture with one can of chili. -Top chili with some shredded cheese (I just eyeball it) -Repeat the layers one more time -Bake for about 15 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted. -Serve with tortilla chips

I made this Hot Swiss and Bacon Dip last year for Thanksgiving and everybody raved about it. We used bread chunks to dip.

This is my fave go to Greek layer dip. It has hummus though. I'm guessing you could substitute that for something else. I guess you could also leave it out and double the other ingredients.
Greek Layered Dip!
Mix: 1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning 3 cloves garlic, minced (or garlic powder)
Layer on bottom of pie pan.
Then add a layer of hummus
Then a layer of tzatziki sauce
Layer with cut up cucumber, tomato and kalamata olives
Top with crumbled feta.
Serve with Pita chips or wedges. Yummy, easy and different.

Re: Please give your recipe for the best dip you ever made!
One night, I was in a real rush and needed to make a dip quick...I stopped at one tiny store, and needed to pull something together from there...so this is what I did:
I caramelized onions. Then, I mixed the onions with cream cheese and French onion soup mix. I topped it with mozzarella and baked it in the oven until the mozz melted.
I call it French onion soup dip, and people go crazy over it every time I bring it somewhere!
I also find that most people love a good taco dip. I use refried beans, cream cheese, sour cream, diced black olives, assorted spices, and shredded Mexican cheese. I sometimes add tomatoes and/or salsa. I know a lot of recipes call for shredded lettuce, but I just prefer to skip that. I've served this dip both hot and cold.
