My daughter will be 5 months next week. She just started stage 1 yellow/orange veggies and then fruits. How much formula should she also be consuming?? Can anyone give me their feeding schedule over the course of a day??? TIA

DS is 5 months today. Here is his schedule.

Breakfast - 5 - 6 tablespoons of cereal with a 6 oz bottle

mid morning - 6 oz bottle

lunch - stage 1 jar of fruit with a 6 oz bottle

mid afternoon - 6 oz bottle

dinner - 5 - 6 tablespoons of cereal with a 6 oz bottle

Sometimes right before he goes to bed (if he is hungry) - 6 oz bottle

Isn't that alot of cereal?
6 tablespoons at a time? Holy moly DD barely finishes 2 tbls at a time!

According to my chart i got from the PED a 4-6 month old should be drinking 24-40 oz of formula
and 2 serving of 1-2 tablespoons of cereal and fruit and veggies

That's just a guide, but I think formula should be baby's main source of nutrition still, solids are just practice

Andrew was def having way beyond 2 tablespoons of cereal at that age. Now he has an entire bowl full plus a Stage 2 veggie or fruit combo.

Wow! We were late food starters, started at 6.5 months old, I def think my daughter is not an eater, no wonder she's still a peanut!
She eats solids twice a day-2 tlbs of cereal with 1/2 stage 2 fruit in am, and 1/2 stage 1 veggie and stage 2 fruit at night. AND still only takes 17-21 ounces avg of formula a day.

I can't wait to go to the dr the end of the month!

Re: Please help me all my expert mommies

from what I understand - there should be no change in formula/BM consumption (on average - not on a single given day). They are still growing so this way you are adding calories and nutrients instead of increasing formula?
