Please help me pick paint color for DS's big boy room!
Thomas will be moving to a bigger room soon to make room for the new baby. I am debating between two colors. They are similiar, but one is slightly lighter and one darker. My husband is leaning toward the darker color because my older step sons wanted dark colors for their room. Thinking the darker color would be more boyish and not outgrown as quickly as the lighter. I love the darker blue, but his wall letters are almost a navy blue and I think they will stand out better on the lighter blue.
I've attached pics of the two paint colors, his furniture color and his bedding.

The paint colors are showing very similiar on the screen... Picture (if you can...) the light one being more cornflower blue and the darker one being more vibrant and bright. Image Attachment(s):

i think the darker will be fine. For the letters - can you mount them on a white background maybe if want them to stand out more?

Thanks Bicosi! I edited my post to say that they are showing very similiar... The lighter one is more cornflower and the darker one is more vibrant and bright.

I can definitely try something like that... And since the letters are decorated with planets and rockets, etc. in different colors, it shouldn't blend in too much, right?

The dark one isn't too dark. I would go with the dark. Or if you want even more work, do a chair rail with light on top dark on bottom, or do 3 walls light with a dark accent wall.

I would do the dark.
we did DS room with a bright vibrant blue. i wanted to do a lighter color and DH talked me out of it and I am glad he did...i love the color.

I thought of that too!!  I would love to do that, but poor DH is painting three bedrooms and converting a garage into a playroom all before August, while working a full time job!!
Maybe I could convince him...

Go with the lighter one. You have dark bedding. And it's always darker than it seems while on the wall.
I suggest you do a test on your actual wall. The room natural light in the actual room will change the color of the swatch.

I'm so torn... both colors are lighter than the bedding... I originally thought the lighter would compliment the bedding better, but DH thought the darker would be better.
I'm definitely going to buy the sample jars and try out in the room.
