Please help me with info on a top of the stair gate

My dd has been going with us to my IL's all week and they have wood/stone stairs and a metal rail at the top of the stairs (hi ranch home). What kind of gate can I get that will go from the wall to the metal rail and actually be safe. In my home our top of the stair gate is screwed into both walls. I dont understand what you would do if the other side is not a wall but a metal rail.

i've seen special kits or gates that have a piece in the shape of a V that butts up against the rail...if the other side is mounted to the wall, it should be sturdy enough....i hope i am explaining this well....Chat Icon

I think I get it. So the one side would be mounted in the wall and the "V" thing would kinda wrap around the metal?

They also have things like this:

It attaches to the banister without screws, and you can use it with any standard wall-mounted gate.
