please help with "day in the city"

neither of us lives in ny, but we both enjoy the city.

i'm thinking... museum(s), lunch in central park (weather permitting), a little shopping, a nice quiet room to nap in (i'm old *remember my mother's birthday wish * and i need a nap), dinner and a show



am i packing too much into the day?
i'm looking for other ideas... i remember reading about the scavanger hunts... are they fun?

what are the things you like to do in the city??

All that in one day? I don't think I would plan more than 3 things, honestly. Good meals, the park and a show is probably what I would choose. Or meal, museum and show.

I always get tired from walking around so we plan on taking it easy whenever we go in for a day, with stops along the way.

I agree.. a bit much to pack into one day.

I'd do a museum (not more than one.. being on your feet like that gets tiring), then nice lunch, then perhaps walk in the park, window shopping and dinner?

Things to suggest all depend on who you're going with and what you like to do.

Greenwich Village/Soho shopping is always fun - Canal St if you want some cheap bags
Museum of Sex is a great stop.. however not if you're with your mom
There's a rock-n-roll hall of fame annex in Tribeca that recently opened up.

If it's a nice day, I would spend a good part of the day in Central Park. It is huge, and one of my favorite places. You can go out on the rowboats, eat lunch, explore the walking paths...

(DH and I had our first date in CP, and he proposed there, so I'm biased toward it)
