Please help..do any of these tests look familiar to anyone?
Honestly, I am CLUELESS about all this infertility testing. I only had my first appointment with Dr B a few days ago and I an still trying to understand everything he went over with me.
These are the tests he wants to do first:
HLA PHENOTYPE PANEL ( On DH and I )
NK ACTIVATION PANEL (Just on me) TH1/TH2 RIP
Does anyone know how important these tests are? Im deliberating because its going to cost me $900 to have this done. I might get reinbursed though if my insurance will cover it but there is no way of knowing that before I pay.
I have the money. Im just wondering if its worth it considering I have had many other tests dont this week as well and am still pending those results.
Should I wait and see what those results show and then proceed with this testing OR is this very crucial testing I should have done ASAP?
Im sorry, Im rambling like a moron. If anyone has any input at all Id appreciate it. I was thinking of emailing Dr. B but I dont want to sound ignorant or cheap.

I know it's expensive and it stinks
But they are all important tests Dr. B wouldn't have prescribed them otherwise. I believe some of this is the immune testing- I have had them all done, just don't remember what they all are sorry. good luck I hope your insurance covers some of it

Im going to probably just pay and have it done. I just hate not understanding things. I emailed Dr B and now hes going to call me. I feel like such a moron LOL I just want to understand what all the testing is. I feel like Ive had so many different things done this week that I cant even keep up.

Yes!! They do look familiar. I just had so many done so I'm not sure which I had when but most of mine were covered except the ones he sent to his lab Reprosource. Those were covered 80% for me, so still not so bad. Reprosource also does a Safeguard program when you pay a fee upfront and if it's not covered by INS, you won't have to pay anymore that you already have. Just found this out. Good Luck!

My insurance said they cant tell me how much will be covered until its actually billed. The only choice I have right now is to pay the $892 up front and see what, if anything, my insurance will give back. I think the only in-network provider for Reposource is Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and I have GHI.

Yeah I paid the $892 as well. I spoke with my insurance (Empire Plan- Gov't through United Healthcare) and they said they'd cover 80%. I then called Reprosource and they said once it goes through Insurance they will refund me the rest. I surely hope that what I paid wasn't 20%!
