Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers-Update had the amnio
Had my 20 week sono today and while the baby is developing great there were two things on the sono that they were concerned about. The first thing is there are "spots" on the heart. Which they said could be nothing or it could be a sign of down's syndrome. The second thing that they saw is there is only one artery connected to the umbilical cord which could also be a sign of down's syndrome and it could mean that the baby might be small.
So I have to go for an amnio tomorrow morning and I have to go for a fetal echocardiogram in a couple of weeks. Although all of my blood work came back great the doctor is concerned since I had two things as possible down's syndrome signs. She said the good news is that my blood work was great and the baby has developed normally so far. But she wants us all to have peace of mind so she wants the amnio.
So please keep me and my family in your thoughts and prayers over the next couple of days. I will have my results within the week. Let's just hope that everything comes back ok.
Update: I had the amnio today. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be but it did hurt. My doctor is truly amazing and I just love her. She made me feel so much better about everything. I should have the results in about a week. So I will let everyone know when I hear more.
Thank you everyone for your support and your messages to me. I can't tell you how much better you all made me feel. Please keep us in your thoughts for the next week and let's hope everything comes back ok.

We had our 20 wk sono and they saw something in the intestines- a sign of DS. We went for fetalechocardiogram which came out great. We just had our follow-up sono and they saw nothing in the intestines so try to stay positive!!!

Before I had DD they were spots on her heart too and they said it could be a sign of DS too but thankfully the spots went away as she got older and at birth she got a clean bill of health. So these are just flags that may not mean anything at all.

Thank you everyone for the support. I am trying very hard not to stress over it and I keep telling myself that it is all going to be ok. But the fact that there are 2 things is what is really getting to me. Plus my poor DH is sick with 102 fever so he feels awful that he's in bed and that he can't be much of a support line to me. I told him not to worry about it but of course he is and I do wish that he was able to help me more.
