Please post the name of your insurance company
if you have any type of IVF coverage with your policy.
I am researching if it may be more cost effective to purchase insurance on my own rather than pay out of pocket for an IVF cycle.
If your insurance covers IVF please post the name so that I may start calling around and getting quotes.
THanks!!

Re: Please post the name of your insurance company
I thought the name of the insurance company was not relevant since employers have the option to buy or not buy the infertility rider.
So for example, even though Mrs. Smith works for The Gap and has Oxford as her insurance company and has IVF coverage, Mrs. Jones who works for JetBlue, also has Oxford but does not have IVF coverage.
It would be interesting to see your compiled list, though, since I am interested in buying a policy as well if it is not astronomically expensive.

I also have Cigna. But the Open Access High Option plan is the only one that covers IVF at our company.

I agree about the rider. I was covered under Oxford with a rider. And now GHI , although I have a 25% coinsurance.
ETA: I think its a great idea, and if your DH buys a company policy for himself and a couple other employees you should be able to buy one of those riders. I have a feeling a single policy would not allow you that option.

Re: Please post the name of your insurance company
KEep in mind I recently quoted a small group how much the IVF rider was. They had two members ( meaning they would get a lesser rate then say you as an individual) and it was an extra $74K a YEAR! ( thats the rider cost...Yes thats thousands!)
I dont think if your in NY you can get individual coverage for IVF, Its not really offered.
I work for BlueCross BlueShield.
