Please pray for my Dad..
He is very ill...has been for a long time..but he has given up.
I think he's looking to us to tell him its ok if he gives up..I dont have that strength within me.
I am broken hearted..and scared. He will never get better but I keep praying for a miracle so that he can be with us longer. Not sure what I am asking for..basically just a prayer and a good thought or two. Thank you.

I can tell you, that I have been there. My Father passed away in 97' from Cancer and it was a VERY long and hard road for 5 years. He was so strong and towards the end, we just knew he had enough and of course sometimes we can be selfish, but to see someone go through that much pain, you get to a point where you just have to say "it's for the best"
You can FM me if you ever want to tallk, vent, etc.. and I wish your Dad could have a miracle happen, it's possible!!!
They gave me Father 6 months to live and he was with us for 5 years. Doctors are not God, always remember that.

I'm so sorry for what you're going through.
When my grandmother was dying, which happened much more abruptly than your situation, we knew she was in agony and I told her that if she needed to let go we would be okay, that we loved her and we would take care of each other and of my grandpa... that if she wanted to keep fighting we wouldn't give up on her and we would fight for her, but that it was okay if she was done fighting. And I only half believed it at the time I said it and still really don't but I am glad for her sake that I said it.
Think of it as doing it for him, not for you. Perhaps peace is the only thing you can give him now, and that may be what he needs. Sending you lots of prayers and hugs.
