We got a call last night that the son of a very close family friend of ours was killed on a business trip in Puerto Rico.
I don't know any details yet. His wife got a call from someone speaking spanish so she needed a translator and now the family is on their way to Puerto Rico.
I believe it was a car crash.
It is truly sad because his mother is a police widow who lost her husband very very young, and this was her only son. He leaves behind a wife and an 18 year old daughter who just started college.
I really loved Joey. He did so much community theatre in Long Island and he was so talented and brought so much joy to so many people. He always had a smile and a kind word for anyone.
Please pray for this family. I am really worried about his mom. I am very close to her and call her my "aunt." and she is still in pain over losing her husband many years ago and now she has to deal with the loss of her son.
I'm just in complete shock right now. I keep hoping it's a mistake and there was a mistranslation. This family really needs our prayers right now.
