Please read and tell me if I am over planning

Its long I warn you...

I am a teacher who lives in Douglaston works in Williamsburg BK and my sitter is in Woodside .So I leave my house drop the kids off and continue on to work. It’s really not a bad commute. So I got excessed form my school. I am looking all over and I said to Dh that if I find a job in say eastern queens it would be impossible for me to keep the sitter. So I would have to take my dd out of the catholic school she is in near my sitter and put her in the one near my house and I would also have to put ds in daycare. I said I need to look around at daycares and possible put a deposit down to hold a spot for him. He told me I am nits and I should wait until I find out where I get job. I said if you remember I got this job on Friday of Labor Day weekend at 2pm. I can’t just walk into a daycare and expect they will have an opening for my son. Am I wrong or am I over planning to go and look around now and possibly hold a spot for him IN Case I get job that is not near or on the way to my sitters?? Be honest

No, I don't think you're overplanning--you need to be prepared. I don't know anything about daycares, etc. but I would totally be making calls and seeing about waiting lists, etc. I don't think I'd be leaving any deposits though unless it was something close to your house and not just a "potential" job location.

No, you are not over planning especially if you need daycare. I would start looking into them ASAP.

I just found out last week that I am going back to work in Sept FT and had to fine full time daycare for Alexandra. I was keeping my fingers crossed that our current daycare had a spot for her. Luckily they did, but they told me that if I waited any longer to ask them, I would be SOL.
