Please rec dystopian YA books!
After reading the Hunger Games trilogy, I read Divergent by Veronica Roth (soooo good!), and now I think I am getting hooked on these type of books, which are totally NOT my thing lol!!!
Can anyone recommend any others? Thanks

Matched by Allie Condie good. I can't remember the name the second book. Crossed maybe? The Giver is a favorite of mine....

The Host was SO good. I really like a lot of Amanda Hocking's books, but they aren't "dystopian". I suppose "Hollowland" is but not Trylle or the My Blood Approves series.
I've been wanting to read Divergent, glad to hear it was good! I really liked Maze Runner and the Uglies series.
ETA: Incarceron was okay, too. It reminded me a lot of Maze Runner.

Yeah I suppose you are right about the Trylle trilogy but to me all of those YA books are similar and equally addicting!

I don't know about YA books, but The Stand by Stephen King is, IMO, the most amazing post-apocalyptic books ever written. Definitely check it out.

Is the stand horror? I don't like horror!
Jilli - Divergent was less brutal and more of a love story than Hunger Games but it was still intense and a page turner. The ending was great. Book 2 comes out in May )I think). They are making it into a movie too

I don't think I would consider it horror. In a nutshell, the world is destroyed by a superflu pandemic. 99% of the population die. The remaining people are brought together into 2 camps... one is led by a Christlike old woman who talks to God, and one is led by, basically, the devil. It's the story of the people who are the pawns in this good vs. evil showdown. It's excellent. And huge.

I've never read it, because it is HUGE and daunting. But I've always wanted to. I watched the tv movie and it was a great story. I wouldn't say horror per say, either. A little more horrific than Hunger Games, but not by much.

The miniseries was actually great, and very true to the book. It is daunting but SO worth the read. I love a big book

Re: Please rec dystopian YA books!
I haven't read The Stand for some reason, but everything by Stephen King is disturbing on a psychological level, so be prepared for that.
I really LOVED Graceling and Fire by Kristen Cashore

I read the Matched series books 1 and 2 right after Hunger Games. Very good books. The new one comes out this Fall and I can't wait!
